The River Level Text Service was founded in 2009 to provide access to real-time river levels in Washington state in areas where mobile data was not available. It utilizes text messaging (SMS), so it can be used in areas with weak cell coverage and outside data coverage areas.
Since then, the River Level Text Service has been expanded to support over 13,000 gauges throughout the United States (and a few in British Columbia too!)
The River Level Text Service has been provided free of charge since day 1. But costs a lot to keep it up and running, as well as to add new gauges. If you can, please help support this service!
